6/6/17 A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2019 class. Crawford has a strong frame and a live arm. Arm moves through a near over the top slot with impressive arm speed. Continually challenged hitters with his 83-85 mph fastball. Works off the pitch and uses it to set-up his 69-71 mph breaking ball. The curve has an 11/5 shape with depth and some sharpness. Still developing feel for the pitch. Arm talent is there just needs to improve pitchability.
7/26/16 6-foot-1, 190-pound physical frame. ad a very impressive outing showing feel for all three of his offspeed pitches and ran his fastball up to 84 mph. Fastball showed run to his arm side and he was consistently down in the zone. Uses two different breaking balls the better of which being his slider that has late, sharp action across the plate. Throws his curveball a bit slower with a slurvish look to it. Also showed off an impressive knuckleball that had dance to it and late sink. Also worked out as a position player. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. At the plate he has advanced strength through the zone with above average batspeed. Showed pop to his pull side. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph. At first base he moves well laterally and has feel for the position. Glove skills are there. Threw across the infield with 78 mph arm strength.
1/24/16 6-foot, 185-pound thick build. On the mound he looks very advanced for his age. Starts in the stretch and gets to a brief balance point in the delivery. Shows some good direction to the plate landing on line at foot strike. Lands square after his follow through. Throws with a high ¾ slot with the fastball sitting 83-86 mph with good arm side run. Curveball sits 70-71 with sharp break on an 11/5 plane. At the plate he starts with an open stance and gets to even on the swing. Does not get much load with his hands before the swing. Bat path travels on an even plane through the zone. Registered a top exit velocity of 79 mph. In the infield he fields out in front of his body. Throws with a low ¾ slot with 77 mph arm strength across the diamond.
9/25/19 Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with good pace to a delivery that doesn’t require a ton of effort. Looks cleaner than when we saw him in college. Nice strength/speed combination to arm through a high- slot. Fastball: 82-84 mph. Worked both sides of the dish. Velo appears to play up and should have more to come. Breaking Ball: Firm pitch with good depth. Tight breaker that works on an 11/5 plane. Tossed the pitch in the zone frequently. Above average offering.
Changeup: Didn’t show often but the few he did throw Pitchability: Threw strikes with all three.
