Versatile defender that had a solid showing in the infield/outfield. In the outfield he is mechanically sound throughout fielding process. Plays through the ball cleanly, showing smooth actions and above average ball skills. Are was accurate with carry. In the infield he plays under control too and picks up tempo after securing the baseball. Does a nice job of gaining ground to first base before throwing with accuracy. At the plate he shows a top of the lineup skill set with line drive abilities to both sides of the field. Can get around the ball at times due to downhill path. In general an easy, efficient stroke that finds the barrel often.

5-foot-9, 148-pound right-handed infielder stayed inside the baseball very well and made constant contact throughout his round. McDaniel displayed a 82 mph exit velocity. He had a level bat plane, but did have the tendency for that to start going more uphill as he fell back into some of his swing. His back leg needs to gain stability but that can come as his gets older and stronger. Defensively, he projects as a second base type. Current arm strength will keep him on the right side of the diamond. Showed athleticism in his feet and ability to make routine plays. Threw from ¾ slot with top velocity of 68 mph. Hands showed some softness, but needs to work on footwork and creating angles.
