6/20/18 L- bal, lk, vb, strong, level with whip, ball jumps, pull side pop
Corner infielder that worked out at both spots with the frame for either. Looks to be slightly more comfortable at first base, showing fluid actions and above average ball skills but was also adequate at third base. Swings it from the left side, startin in a balanced stance. Goes with a leg kick for timing while barrel moves to a vertical position prior to launch. Level path with noticeable whip through the zone. Ball jumps, especially to pull side. Middle of the lineup potential. Home to 1st: 5.06 Infield Velocity: 70 Exit Velocity: 84
2/4/18
6-foot-2, 190 pound infield prospect has soft hands and fields it well. Needs to consistently play through the ball and keep momentum moving towards first. He can improve in efficiency getting to the ball by taking better angles to get around it and set him self up for strong throws. At first base he gets off the bag well and attacks the ball. He threw 68 mph across the diamond and that will improve as he gets stronger. Davis is a left handed hitter that has a smooth, uphill swing. It was longer, but he gets on plane well and on time stroking the ball very well. He creates good separation producing good power for his class with an 80 mph exit velocity. Did an excellent job staying on the ball and driving it to all fields.
1/20/18
In the infield he showed fluidity to actions. Feet work well and he plays through the baseball efficiently. Looked comfortable at third base. Ball skills are adequate for the position. At first base he looked comfortable and mechanically sound at the spot. Feet work well off the bag and he showed adequate ball skills. Swings it from the left side showing a fluid, athletic loading sequence. Barrel flows through a bat tip load during his leg kick timing mechanism. Path is downhill with strength to his hands at contact. Strength is ahead of bat speed at this stage. A line drive guy with flashes of gap abilities. A definite bat to follow as bat speed catches up to strength.
10/23/16 A left-handed bat that is impressively built for his age. Ran a 4.92 from home to first. Very rhythmic movements throughout his swing sequence. Bat speed is well above average for his age and he showed solid strength through contact. Drove the ball to both gaps during batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 77 mph with a lot left in the tank. At third base he has a tendency to play higher with aggressive footwork. Glove skills are adequate and he fields from heels. Would be aided by creating angles in his pre fielding footwork to play through the ball efficiently. Threw across the infield with 67 mph arm strength.
