2/12/17 6-foot-5, 210-pound very projectable frame. Swanger showed up much more physical then when we saw him in August as a member of Team Ohio at the PBR Future Games. The added strength translated to his swing as he had noticeably more bat speed through the zone and pop off the bat. Other than his advanced strength/bat speed, the Missouri commit has a very flat path and gets on plane with the baseball very early. The combination of barrel depth, strength, and bat speed allow him to go the other way without losing much juice. The Moeller standout consistently backspun balls into the oppo gap and showed that he could turn on the ball with authority if need be.
60 Yard Dash: 7.15 Exit Velo (Wood Bat): 95
6/6/16 6-foot-5, 205-pound strong, projectable frame. Very fluid at the plate with more strength to his bat than quickness. He uses a leg kick load and controlled stride to create efficient energy with his lower half. Bat gets through the zone on a slightly uphill path giving him natural lift on the ball. Has power potential as bat speeds up with maturity. Reached a top exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Worked out at both corner positions in the infield and has an ideal frame for both. At third base he looks the part of a solid defender and if you slide him first base he becomes an elite defender. Has fluidity to his actions with confidence in his glove at either position. Should be able to play both at the next level based on needs.
6/30/15 6-foot-5, 190-pound athletic body frame. From third base he uses good footwork to approach ground balls, playing through the baseball. He fields with his hands out in front of his body and then funnels them into his body. He throws using a clean, short arm action coming from a ¾ slot using 79 mph velocity. From first base he uses good, athletic footwork around the bag. Right-handed hitter starts from a very open stance getting back to being squared up to even using a leg kick for added power. He lands hard on his front foot occasionally and his hands back load getting to an arm-bar position. He swings with a slightly upward bat path through the zone, finishing high with a one-handed follow through. Squared up the baseball numerous times in plate appearances during the games portion of the event, hitting a double to left field and also hit an infield single. He reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 4.88 out of the batter’s box to first base. He is one to keep an eye out for.
6/8/15 6-foot-5, 190-pound thin, very projectable body frame. From third base he has pretty good footwork approaching ground balls. Will need to continue to improve his angles to the baseball. He tends to let the ball carry in on him and would like to see him work with his hands more out front of his body. He throws using a clean, short arm action coming through a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 80 mph on his throws across the infield. From first base he uses athletic footwork around the bag and moves well laterally off the bag. Right-handed hitter starts from a very open stance, using a leg kick to get himself back to being squared up to even before he swings. He uses a fluid hands back load that gets to an arm bar position. Swings with an upward bat path through the zone and finishes high with a one-handed follow through. He showed the ability to use both parts of the field and hit with strength, showing power with more power to come as he continues to get stronger with age. He reached a top exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.13 60-yard dash, all solid numbers coming from a young corner infielder prospect.
