Caden Konczak: OF/2B, (2021) Olentangy Orange, OH. Toledo Commit, 5-foot-9, 175-pound. In the box, Konczak had an exit velocity of 93 mph. Starts in an open athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is explosive, shows an upward swing plane and high finish. Advanced in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 87 mph; had soft hands, athletic footwork, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.79.

Hit: Left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Really like the hit tool. Absolute barrel machine. Compact, athletic with more than enough tools to fit multiple roles. Sprayed it around the yard. Continues to get more physical everytime we see him. Solid round. Power: Can run the gap regularly. Offensive Projection: Multiple ROles with top of the lineup lean. Max BP Exit Velocity: 92 mph Max BP Distance: 335 ft Field: Solid showing in the outfield. Smoother tempo throughout sequence with above average ball skills. Very accurate thrower. Multiple spot guy. Throw: Clean arm with more to come. Defensive Projection: Multiple Spots.

2/17/20 Position Player Hit: Left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. One of my favorite bats of the day. Athletic stroke with a nice combination of burst and feel. Squared up everything in BP. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Top of lineup. Field:Good athlete that plays fast. Looks the part out there. Depending on the run tool he could be a CF candidate. Also worked out in the infield. Although you'd likely label him a more natural defender in the outfield you could see him being a second base guy if need be. Throw: Ball comes out well. Loose/clean arm. Defensive Projection: Multiple Spots.

Left-handed bat with a smooth swing. Maintains balance throughout swing sequence and unlocks well from the bottom up. Barreled everything in BP and laced a few balls in game. Not the most physical dude in the world but he has more jump than you’d think for a prospect his size. Much like he is at the plate he looked smooth in the outfield as well. Moves well with above average ball skills. Clean arm that will add easy mphs with maturity.

Body Type: 5-foot-8, 155-pound prospect with room to add. Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in a tall stance. Nice, easy load that creates balance. Hit: Swing is athletic with a ton of feel for contact. Fluid swinger with loose hands, allowing for easy/natural whip through the zone. Swing plays to all fields. Very impressive round. High follow. Really looks the part in the box. Power: 83 mph exit velocity. Gap to Gap pop with louder contact than exit velo would suggest. Offensive Projection: 3-Hole look to him. Run: 4.19 home to 1st. Field: Looks athletic and comfortable in the outfield. Actions are fluid and he looks to have infielder ball skills. Very solid performance out there. Throw: 81 mph arm strength to home plate. Long back, clean arm with above average strength and more to come. Defensive Projection: CF/LF.
Body Type: 5-foot-8, 155 pounds. Athletic, smaller build with room to grow. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Presented smoother actions mechanically and looked really well for his class. Releases out of a ¾ arm slot with nice arm action to finish delivery. Fastball: 76-81 mph. Lighter arm-side run with command in the zone. Curveball: 63-64 mph. Developing breaking ball. Playable action on it for now. Changeup: 67-69 mph. Nice depth to this pitch. Located it very well. Pitchability: Fastball and changeup are best offerings right now. Threw off-speed more effectively from the stretch position. Arm speed and his release point varied at times with all pitches but still managed to locate pitches in the zone. Additional Comments: Size and strength gains are in his future. Will all aid in his progression of pitching abilities.
6/13/18
A lefty swinger that starts in an athletic setup. Load is fluid and efficient, creating balance and separation. Showed of a nice, compact stroke with quick hands and much more strength than frame would suggest. Has barrel feel and ball jumps off it. Turned on the ball with authority in BP while also showing the ability to spray it the other way, Talented young bat. In the outfield he is fluid and shows infielder type ball skills. Would be aided by learning to play one handed through the ball to make fielding sequence more efficient. Slow is lower three quarter with average arm strength to home plate. In the infield he plays with quick feet while showing the ability to create angles prior to fielding. Hands are soft and he gets rid of the ball quickly. More projectable in the infield than outfield presently. Second baseman type.

On the bump the right-hander displayed a fluid, low effort delivery. Arm action is longer with developing strength/speed. Fastball comes out of a high-¾ slot sitting 72-75 mph. Arm has some whip and there, projecting for more velocity with maturity. Maintains armspeed well on secondary offerings. Changeup will stay mostly true through the zone with occasional dive at 68-71 mph. Breaking ball has gradual action on an 10/4 plane at 62-63 mph. A lefty swinger with an efficient swing. Has feel for the barrel, finding it often throughout his round. Sprayed the ball to both fields with easy line drive abilities. Top of the lineup type guy with more to come as he adds strength. A versatile defender. In the infield he attacks the baseball off the bat, fielding out in front of his body. Hands are soft and he looks to be sure-handed. Second baseman type. In the outfield he plays fast with aggressive footwork. Transitions smoothly through fielding into his throws. How arm develops will likely determine future destination.
