2/18/18

6-foot-4, 220 pound tall, sturdy first basemen provides an average glove fielding it during his outing. Improving in staying through the ball. Footwork was average and developing in quickness to improve mobility. Throws with a longer arm action and recorded a 74 mph throwing velocity. At the plate he remains relatively quiet mechanically prior to launch. Path is level with natural loft in there at times. Strength stands out in swing and he has the frame for the middle of the lineup. Much more pop to come as batspeed catches up to strength.  Ideal pitchers frame with big, tall body. Throws exclusively from the stretch. Efficient use of his lower half. Uses short arm action through high ¾ slot. Fastball shows natural cutting action, sitting in the mid 70’s, up 79 mph. Changeup is thrown with good arm speed at 70-72 mph. Similar action to his fastball. Breaking ball is still developing but shows good potential with tight break at 71-72 mph.

60-yard dash: 7.87
Infield Velocity: 74
Exit Velocity: 68

9/17/17

At the plate he uses a simple approach mechanically. Hands show an easy back load during his leg lift and controlled stride. Path is level and strength stands out as top tool. Middle of the order top bat with easy gap pop. Natural tools were shown with his 86 mph exit velocity.  Ideal frame for the first base position, also aided by the fact he is a lefty thrower. Actions are fluid and he plays low for frame. Hands are soft and he moves well around the bag. Shows obvious feel for the spot.

60-yard dash: 7.93
Infield Velocity: 73
Exit Velocity: 86
