Body Type: 5-foot-11, 174-pound athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Upright, open stance followed by a smooth, efficient loading sequence. Hit: Obvious tools through the zone as a barrel travels on a mostly level path to contact. Sprayed it all over the yard with the ability to backspin it regularly to the opposite field gap. Definite bat to follow. Power: Easy gap pop. Top exit velocity off the bat in BP was 89.6. Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles. Field: Solid defender out there. Moves well and has above average ball skills. Also showcased as a catcher where he featured quick feet with a quick and smooth transfer. He receives and blocks the baseball well. Defensive Projection: Corner Guy.
5/28/19
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 174-pound well put together prospect. Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Shows light back load to hands during his short stride to square back up. Hit: Easy stroke with natural loft to it. Both bat speed and strength are apparent in stroke. More of a spray guy presently that should grow into gap abilities regularly. Impressive feel for contact. Power: 80 mph exit velocity. Fringe gap abilities with much more to come. Offensive Projection: Table setter with run producer ceiling. Run: 4.53 H-1st. Field: Catcher/outfielder whose arm shows up at both positions. Tossed out multiple runners in game behind the dish. Throw: 85 mph from the outfield, 74 mph from the crouch. Defensive Projection: C/Corner OF. Additional Comments: Barrelled up balls all day and showed versatility as a defender. Good player.
2/12/19
Body Type: 5-foot-6, 168-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in a wider stance. Goes with a simple load that creates balance. Hit: Handsy hitter with feel for contact. Like the athleticism in the stroke with above average physicality for class. Ball comes off well, especially to pull side. Definite follow. Power: 84 mph exit velocity. Present Gap Abilities. Offensive Projection: Run Producer Potential. Run: 4.53 H-1st. Field: In the outfield he plays with fluid feet and under control throughout fielding process. Looks to be sure-handed out there. Also worked out in the infield. Moves light on his feet with the ability to make play outside his funnel. Under control throughout sequence. Ball skills are on par for class. Also worked out behind the dish where he recorded pop times of 2.0-2.13. Throw: Compact, whippy arm that will see more strength as he matures. Threw with present accuracy. Defensive Projection: UTL Defender.
2/13/18
A left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Hands stay quiet during his leg kick timing trigger. A back leg hitter that takes an uphill path to the baseball. Natural tools are developing. A contact guy that worked primarily to pull side in BP. Worked out at multiple defensive positions. Looks to be a natural infielder. Plays with quiet feet, reacting well off the bat. Does a nice job varying tempo/direction to get the hop he wants and play through it efficiently. Hands are soft and ball skills are above average for class. Solid defender in the infield. In the outfield he showed efficient feet and looked functionally athletic. Threw with accuracy and average strength for class. A good athlete behind the plate with quick feet and above average exchange skills. Would like to see him create better direction with feet during transfer as he has a tendency to fade to third base line. Should see easy improvements in pop times as arm strengthens with maturity.
