2/9/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Average tempo, repeatable delivery with some effort. Athletic motions on the mound. Really incorporates his lower half well. Short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. High follow arm in the 2021 class. Fastball: Below average spin rate guy. Stuff plays very well to the bottom part of the zone. Shows some arm side movement from time to time. Fastball Spin Rate: 1770-1800 Curveball: 11/5 shape. Breaking ball is continuing to develop. Depth is getting there would like to see some sharper break. Curveball Spin Rate: 1611-1690. Changeup: Above average pitch. Shows plus feel for his changeup. Offering has late dive and swing and miss potential.

Body Type: 6-foot-2, 205-pound physical frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with good tempo on the mound. Arm is clean with obvious strength through a high-¾ slot. Fastball: Live pitch. Ball jumps out of hand, running it up to 89 mph multiple times. Curveball: 68-70 mph. 11/5 shaped offering that will need to continue to sharpen up but showed more depth/live than we’ve seen in past outings. Changeup: 74-75 mph. An above average pitch that acted as his primary secondary offering. Good feel for the offering. Pitchability: Filled up the zone for the majority of his outing. Additional Comments: Impressive arm talent who will receive his fair share of interest after this performance.

Physical kid with a live arm. Came onto the scene in a big way, hitting 88 mph multiple times at Buckeye Elite. On this day he sat 83-86 mph, showing the same long, loose arm with obvious strength/speed. Delivery does require some effort. Breaking ball is average at this stage, showing big action on an 11/5 plane at 61-66 mph. A high follow as he continues to mature physically and develop secondary offerings.

McCune came on to the scene in a big way with this outing. 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect with more physical maturation left on frame. Works with an uptempo pace to a delivery that has some effort. Loose, live arm with obvious strength. Fastball comes out well, sitting 84-88 mph with more 87s than anything. The pitch is heavy while working downhill. Offspeed has room to improve but a ‘21 with that velocity will attract D1 attention. In the infield acts as an aggressive defender. Moves well toward the ball with solid footwork and fluid actions. Tends to play on his heels occasionally. Throws have carry across the diamond from a ¾ slot. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall stance. Uses a controlled stride during his slight back load with hands. Front foot launch with a slightly downhill path. Strong kid with some bat speed in there. Swing has intent, generating gap pop. Produces more natural ball flight to oppo gap. Would be aided by leveling out path to open up the left side.
