6/6/17 Starts in a wider setup at the plate. Takes his hands back during short stride, while maintaining barrel fluidity. Path is downhill and barrel gets in and out of the zone quickly. Natural tools are there. Strength and bat speed both well above average tools. Produced consistent line drives during batting practice. In the outfield he looks athletic and confident approaching the baseball. Plays clean through the baseball and has a smooth transfer. Throws showed carry and accuracy. 60-yard dash: 6.92 Outfield Velocity: 78 Exit Velocity: 89
6/21/16 6-foot, 165-pound strong, athletic frame. In the outfield he does a nice job of playing through the baseball. Uses mechanically sound footwork. Throws were on target with 81 mph arm strength. At the plate he starts slightly open and uses a short stride to get back to even. Has some batspeed as he takes a downhill path to the ball. Consistently found the barrel in batting practice. Has more in there once he learns to use his lower half more efficiently and flattens out his swing. Top exit velocity was 82 mph and ran a 4.55 from home to first.
2/21/16 Benyo has a projectable 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame. He stands with a wide base and a slight crouch. He uses a quick load, creates good separation with his hands and uses a short, simple swing. His exit velocity was 74 mph and he ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. He takes good routes to the ball in the outfield and does well with working through the ball. His position velocity from the outfield was up to 78 mph.
1/24/16 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic, muscular build. Ran a 4.21 from home to first. The right-handed swinger starts in an athletic, slightly open stance. Uses a toe-turn load to get back to even. During his toe-turn he takes his hands back with good rhythm and showed good bat speed through the zone. Taking a downhill path to the ball he was able to produce an exit velocity of 81 mph with much more left in the tank. In the outfield he showed advanced footwork for his age while approaching ground balls. He does get sufficient use out of his crow hop but would like to see him quicken up his transfer. From a high 3/4 slot he displayed 81 mph arm strength to home plate.
