7/2/18 6-foot-0, 165-pound pitching prospect. Shanks has a slow windup but is very explosive to the plate. He really gets down the mound well. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and his arm acts as a whip to generate a Fastball of 74-77 mph. Shanks throws a 12/6 curve at 59-63 mph and has good depth to it. He will get better as he continues to fill into his body. Two-way prospect. Athletic swing from the right side. Back leg hitter with natural loft through the zone. Swing shows an above average combination of strength and speed through the zone. Line drive swinger with gap pop. At shortstop he shows direct feet with solid hands. A good athlete that moves well to either direction.
