12/2/18 At the plate Lawson starts in an open stance and uses a modified leg kick to initiate his load. Somewhat drops his back should and creates a mostly uphill bat path. Could generate more bat speed with increased body control and strength. Capable defender up the middle of the infield. Feet work well with some fluidity to his actions. Ball skills are on par for class. Second baseman type. Also showed more than adequate abilities behind the dish. Athleticism shows back there as he jumps out of his low crouch with urgency without compromising fluidity. Much improved catch and throw wise since we saw him in '17. In the outfield he moves well, showing a corner skill set. Actions are solid at all three spots with the common area for improvement being arm strength. 60-yard Dash: 7.89 Pop Times: 2.01-2.10 Catcher Velocity: 71 Infield Velocity: 72 Outfield Velocity: 76 Exit Velocity: 75
7/25/17 A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic position. Barrel gets vertical during his leg kick load. Stride creates timing and balance. Swing with intent, showing above average bat speed. Strength is his top tool at the plate. Ball gets off his bat well, routinely driving line drives into the outfield. Showed middle of the lineup potential. Behind the plate he starts in an athletic stance. Gets out of his crouch well, using clean footwork. Transfer skills are adequate. Uses a lower than ideal slot for the position but throws with accuracy. 60-yard Dash: 8.25 Pop Time: 2.19-2.3 Catcher Velocity: 67 Exit Velocity: 75
