Alex Caudill: RHP, (2023) Bellefontaine, OH. 5-foot-11, 185-pound. Solid on the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Displays downhill shoulders with a consistent balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 88-89 mph. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 2088; Avg 2017). His 11/5 curveball (65-68) has some sweeping action. (Max spin ; Avg ). He shows slight fading action on his changeup (80-81). Shows late tight action on his 10/4 slider (70-71). (Max spin 2086; Avg 2027).
The arm talent and athleticism is apparent. Smooth tempo with a near over the top delivery that can generate velocities up to 90 mph. Lower spin rate on the fastball gives the pitch regular sink. Complements a fastball with a developing breaking ball that moves on an up and down plane in the low-70s. All the signs point to a high velocity arm that will continue to improve stock as secondary develops.
