Alex Bemis: SS/RHP, (2023) Monroe, OH. Gannon University Commit, 5-foot-11, 195-pound. (71.2 mph bat speed average). (21.1 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed was quick, showed a loose uphill swing plane and high finish. Solid showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 92 mph; had soft hands, a clean exchange, and consistent footwork. Solid when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 91 mph;has consistent feet, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. On the mound, showed some arm speed with a quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.09 at the event. On the mound, had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 84-88 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1882; Avg 1742). Throws a 11/5 curveball (70-73) that has some slurvey action. (Max spin 2098; Avg 1822). He shows slight action on his changeup (78-79). His knuckleball shows deceiving action.

Bat speed was above average. Solid showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 87 mph; has consistent hands, a fluid exchange, and quick feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.38. Solid on the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point with uphill shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 84-86 mph. Showed slight running action. (Max spin 2044; Avg 1896). His 10/4 slider (72-73) showed slight late action. (Max spin 2047; Avg 2018). He shows deceiving action on his knuckleball. 

 5-foot-10, 155-pound. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 92 mph exit velocity ranks him 3rd at the event. Begins in an open athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and displayed a level swing plane. Was able to create some loud contact and found multiple barrels.Athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 80 mph; had sure hands, a natural exchange, and athletic footwork. Athletic on the mound, uses an compact arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Uses some effort in his delivery. Curveball (65-66 mph), changeup (70-72 mph).Sat with his fastball at 77-78 mph. 

Scouting Notes: Two-way prospect. Delivery shows fluidity and athleticism. Works with an uptempo pace to a delivery that requires little effort. Arm works well through a high-3/4 slot. Expect more velocity down the road. Also flashed a breaking ball that has decent spin to it.

Hit:Simple, fluid load that leads to a balanced launch. Fast hands with more than respectable strength. Ball comes off well. All field abilities.
Power:Line drive pop, living in the lwo to mid 80s exit velo, topping at 88.4mph.
Offensive Projection:Middle ceiling.
Field:Plays low and fast in the infield. Hands work well. Second baseman skill set.
Throw:Clean arm with developing strength.
Defensive Projection:2B.

2/22/20 Position Player
Hit: Stable compact stance with high hand held. Short quick twitch swing. Struggles lower in the zone.
Power: 77mph exit velo with a max distance of 242 feet.
Offensive Projection: Line drive hitter with run producer potential.
Field: Fluid footwork able to take good routes to the ball.
Throw: 70mph infield velocity.
Defensive Projection: MIF.

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: A quick and simple lower half that lands slightly closed off. A short and high ¾ arm action.
Fastball: 67-71mph with a 1600-1800rpm spin rate on Rapsodo with down hill movement.
Curveball: 58-62mph with a 1700-1900rpm spin rate on Rapsodo with 11-5 movement. CB is big, round strike pitch
Changeup: 58mph CH has arm side fade w/sink

Body Type: 5-foot-3, 110-pounds with small, athletic frame

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: On the mound, he has decent tempo with a small leg kick. He tends to fall off towards first base, short armed ¾ slot.

Fastball: FB is straight with little to no run towards RHH (61-64).

Curveball: CB is developing with 12/6 break (55-56).

Changeup: CH has little depth towards RHH (58).

Pitchability: Pitches are still developing, has good command of his pitches

Role: Reliever

Additional Comments: Will gain velocity as he matures and fills out his body

Hit: The RHH starts with a high leg kick. He has a hand to shoulders separation in his load. Favors the middle of field

Power: Line drive capabilities with some pop

Offensive Projections:  Top of order (71 exit velocity)

Field: From 2B, the defender displays soft hands, with good footwork. Has average arm strength across the diamond. Stays low but tends to cut himself off when throwing

3/11/18

5-foot, 100 pound right handed pitching prospect with a smaller build throws out of an over the top arm slot with shorter arm action. Mechanics worked well as he did a nice job staying connected and back leg provided some action as well. Maintained an even tempo throughout his delivery. Fastball sat 58-61 mph while topping at 62 mph for strikes. Curveball is developing at 55-57 mph. Changeup showed nice glove side run with some tumble at 54-56 mph. A right-handed hitter that starts in a crouched setup with weight on back leg. Uses a slight back load with his hands during his leg kick timing trigger. His vertical barrel launch gives him early bat speed and natural whip through the zone. Bat travels on a slightly uphill path to contact. Offers a balanced combo of strength and bat speed. Contact type hitter. In the infield he uses quick footwork while showing athleticism to his actions. Glove skills are above average for class and transfer is very quick. In general showed the feet/hands for the middle of the infield with how arm matures likely dictating which side.
