6/6/18 6-foot-1, 150-pound right-handed pitching prospect. With room to fill out his thin frame, Blubaugh is one of the more interesting prospects in the 2019 class. There is some funkiness to the delivery while also throwing from multiple arm slots. Fastball has above average run and sink to the arm side while sitting 80-84 MPH. Shows really good feel for his knuckleball, the pitch was dancing all over the zone at 63-68 MPH. Rounds out his arsenal with a playable breaking ball has 11/5 shape with some depth at 64-66 MPH.
2/18/18 Long-armed right hander with a lot of variation in his repertoire. Throws from several arm slots including a high ¾, sidearm, and submarine. Delivery is fluid and towards the plate all the way through finish. Fastball comes in relatively straight but downhill at 78-81 mph. Sat more in the mid 70s when he dropped to side arm slot. Slider shows solid side-to side movement with gradual break at 58-62 mph. Also throws a knuckleball from all 3 arm slots. Knuckle showed impressive command and movement from side arm slot. Curveball comes in on a 11-5 tilt with gradual break 62-63.
2/4/18 6-foot-1, 150 pound prospect has a long, lanky frame that throws from a ¾ arm slot and good arm action. A few times he dropped down his arm slot on select throws. Blubaugh maintained an even flowing tempo with great intent on each throw followed with good downhill drive. His FB sat 80-83 and kept it in the zone. CB had good break at 66-70 but more spin can occur if he pulls it down harder and keeps similar arm action as his FB. Also showed a knuckleball that moved extremely well with great command. Good abilities with some upside as he will continue to grow.
1/15/18
A right-handed pitching prospect with a long limbed, projectable frame. Goes with a slower paced tempo to his lower effort delivery. Rolls with through his high leg lift fluidly into his drop and drive load. Blubaugh will change arm slots with all three of his offerings, releasing anywhere from and over the top to sidearm slot. Fastball was mostly 80-82 mph, touching 84 mph once from natural slot. When he dropped down the fastball had heavier run, sitting in the mid 70s. Used a knuckleball as his primary offering. Displayed impressive feel for the pitch that had noticeable dance to it at 65-71 mph. Showed a breaking ball from his over the top slot that had big, gradual break on an 11/5 plane at 63-65 mph.
