Austin McGowan: RHP/OF, (2022) BENJAMIN LOGAN, OH. 5-foot-11, 185-pound projectable frame. Fluid on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Has an athletic balance point. Splitter (75-77 mph).Threw his fastball 86-89 mph; has arm side control and running action. Threw a 11/5 curveball (70-74) with plus action.
11/10/18 Good athlete on the mound with a fast arm. Shows a slower paced tempo to a delivery that doesn’t require much effort. Arm works through a high-¾ slot, offering above average arm speed for class. Fastball comes out well with late arm side life through the zone at 74-75 mph. Spins a big breaking curveball that has some sharpness to it at 62-64 mph. Quality offering when he stays on top of it. Also showed decent feel for a changeup completing his arsenal. The pitch has some fade to it 65-66 mph. Two-way prospect. A left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. SImple yet efficient load followed by a level stroke. Looks athletic and confident in the box. Ball comes off well, due to above average strength and speed to hands. Type of bat that plays multiple roles inside a lineup. Sprayed line drives with authority in BP. In the outfield he plays with athletic feet, getting to the baseball in a timely fashion. Has some room to grow mechanically but has the athleticism/ball skills to be a solid defender out there. 60 yard dash: 7.97 Outfield Velocity: 77 Exit Velocity: 76
