East-West Battle (July 2017)
Compact build at 5-foot-9 162 pounds; controlled delivery from a high ¾ arm slot. Sat 75-78 early on before dropping; good command. Breaking ball 12-6 with early action. Contact approach at the plate.
NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)

Athletic 5-foot-9, 162-pound outfielder, ran a 7.36/60. Offensively - Effective load, with appropriate pre-pitch movement, brings bat through on level path, repeatable motion with full extension after contact for an exit velocity of 81 MPH, evidence of inner knee rotation, further lower body engagement will add to power. Defensively - Smooth and fluid movements, effective use of crow hop to gain momentum, outfield velocity of 81 MPH.

Southern Tier Sluggers Workout

Boyle, a 2018 right-handed middle infielder, stands at 5-foot-9 and weighs 162 pounds, ran a 7.31 60, but has been as quick as 7.30 at past events.  Offensively- Starts with an upright narrow slightly open lower half, hands held in front of and slightly higher than the back shoulder with the barrel of the bat nearly perpendicular to the the ground. Gets to the launch phase of the swing with a lifting of the lead leg, driving the foot back, some weight shifting to the back side as well while the hands are loaded straight back staying inside the back shoulder and barrel of the bat moving to a 45-degree angle and the elevating slightly greater with some wrap towards the pitcher. Hands stay connected and behind the rotation of the hips creating a direct and efficient route to the ball. Drove the ball, with some lift, from the pull- side line to the opposite field gap well. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH, which was a personal best (+5 MPH from September). Defensively-  Uses a pre-pitch hop technique to ready for the pitch. Approaches the ball with fluid athletic movements maintaining quality body control. Fields the ball, with soft hands, out in front of the body from the center to left side of the body. Transfers the ball, quickly from the waist, however will double tap. Throws showed plus carry and strength across the diamond at 80 MPH, which  is 7 MPH greater than at any previous event. Projectable to a 2B/3B role on the infield but also has shown the ability to play the outfield as well.
NY All-Star Games (September 16, 2016)
Boyle stands in at 5-foot-9; 155-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.76 – 60, prior  best of 7.30 at the NY State Open ID in January 2016. Offensively- Sets up in slightly open with feet shoulder width apart. Slight knee bend in back leg with hands held high at head level. Some pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is a knee raise in towards the plate to stride forward with his hands moving down and back to a good hitting position. Hands are quick to the hitting zone with good bat action throughout into a high two handed finish. Good lower body rotation getting whole body into swing. Tends to jump at the ball with a bit of an inside-out approach. Better timing and swing sequence will make contact more consistent. Will get better with more reps and strength. Line drive, flyball results to the middle of the field. Exit velocity of 77 MPH, a 2 mph improvement from January 2016. Defensively- Tracks and gets behind the baseball well. With more of a crow hop will get more power into throw from the outfield. Displayed a positional velocity of 65 MPH, with a recorded best of 73 mph in January 2016.
NY State Open ID (January 23, 2016)
Boyle sits in at 5-foot-9; 150 pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a much improved 7.30 -60 at NYS Showcase. Offensively- Stance is slightly open with weight back and hands just above the back shoulder.  On pitch his trigger is a step forward to square up and little movement with his hands. Quick hands to the hitting zone with good bat action to a two handed high finish. Swing will improve with an improved trigger of the hands pre-swing. Will help create more torque and a better bat path to the hitting zone. Recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph (+4 MPH from Feb. 2015). Defensively-Good footwork getting behind fly balls. Needs to be aggressive and run through ground balls to gain ground to target. Good arm action on throwing ball in from OF. Recorded a position player velocity of 73 mph.
Futures Showcase (February 28, 2015)
Boyle stands an athletic, 5-foot-8, 125-pounds with room for growth.  Offensively- Hitting from the right side he starts slightly open and gets back to even with toe tap.  Level, smooth swing, with good rhythm.  Keeps his hands inside the ball, but needs to work on extension.  Hands finish at shoulder height.  Max exit velocity was (71) and will improve as he matures and gains strength. Defensively-  In the field Boyle shows good footwork, and a low/wide stance receiving the ball.  Hands are out front, brings ground balls back to center before separation.  Quick release from low 3/4 arm angle.  Moves well from side to side, and showed  (69 mph) arm strength from the hole.  Arm strength should improve as he learns how circle and move through the baseball. Pitching- On the mound he starts his hands high and drops them while going to side step.  Uses drop and drive approach.  Long but quick high 3/4 arm slot.  Front hip opens slightly before landing.  Head ends up over his front side.  Max velocity (68mph).  Ran a 7.80 60.
