NY Games (June 25-27, 2017) Athletic 6-foot-3 right-hander with a fastball at 81-82 MPH that touches 83 MPH (up to 85 earlier) from a high 3/4 slot, late arm-side run inducing weak contact, command of both sides of the plate with confidence, delivery is balanced throughout finish, maintains handspeed on curveball at 72-73 MPH. Athletic on the mound with signs of more to come from the CNY RHP. Still uncommitted.
Academic Games (June 3, 2017)

Impressive 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-hander with a prototypical pitcher's build. Pitching- Long arm action; positive hip tilt at balance point maximizes power for a fastball at 81-85 MPH (up 1 MPH since February) that features some arm-side life. Smooth motion with a dynamic buildup creates power, maintains consistent arm motion and speed for curveball at 71-75 MPH (12-6/1-7 action); would benefit from stronger front side and head control.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)

Scherrer stands 6-foot-3, 180-pounds with ideal projectable size from the mound. The more we see Tommy throw the more we like his development. Pitching-  Simple clean mechanics, high knee lift, long arm action back towards second baseman, high arm-slot with a fastball that topped 84 mph (up 1 mph from Sept). Curveball showed more slider feel this time sweeping with 12/4 shape. Changeup has FB handspeed with arm-side run. Scherrer will be on full-display during the 2017 NYS games.
NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2016)

Scherrer has an ideal pitchers build standing 6-foot-3, with a lean lanky frame at 180-pounds. From the mound there's a lot to like. Uses a quicker paced delivery staying tall on his back side, long arm-action towards the second-basemen. Throws from more of an over-the-top slot, upper body lean towards the first base side with a strong front-side. Fastball sat 81-83 mph with some arm-side run with depth. Curveball was above average on the day sitting 71-74 with 12/6 late shape. Overall, Scherrer has the size and projection to make a case for himself at the next-level now, with a focus on added arm-strength this winter, the sky is the limit.
NY Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Scherrer is a lean 6-foot-3, 180-pound RHP/SS. Pitching- Uses his height well; stands tall pre pitch. Minimal side drop step and raises knee to just above the belly button. Slight bend to back leg and throws with a loose; ¾ to over the top arm action, while finishing nicely over a stiff front leg.  Falls off in control towards the first base line and has a max FB velocity of 82 MPH consistently); CB 72-74 MPH Quick arm and frame will support additional velocity gains.
Preseason All-State (Feb 28, 2016)
Last saw Scherrer in Oct at our Border Battle, where he impressed with his pure pitchers build and quick hand-speed. Pitching - Stands an athletic looking 6-foot-3, 180-pounds with the frame to hold more. Fluid delivery with a high leg-lift, arm-action is long, good strong pull on his front side, long stride with athletic finish. Throws from a high 3/4-slot - close to over-the-top, quick hand speed, fastball sat mostly 80 mph, topping 81 with good down angle. Curveball was consistent at 64-67, 12/6 shape. Change up was too firm at 75-76.

Border Battle (October 18, 2015)
Tommy offered promise for the future. With a great pitcher’s frame and build (6-foot-2, 175-pounds), Scherrer hurled a fastball which topped 80 mph with late jump and depth. His arm action is quick, a little choppy as his hand turns back towards second base with an arm slot thats over-the-top. He adds a curveball at 67-69 with 11/7 shape.
