Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Lean, athletic frame, ran a 7.07 60 yard dash. Smooth repeatable actions defensively. Strong arm. Quick release. Smooth footwork. At the plate, relaxed in his setup, keeps barrel in zone a long time. Hands get to ball quickly. Generated harder contact when he went middle/oppo, exit velo 82 mph.
Long Island Preseason Preview (February 18, 2016)
Slightly built, left-handed hitting middle infielder, 5-6 115 lb, 2019 grad, who ran a 4.50 from home to first. Plenty of time to get bigger and stronger. Offensively- Hit from a crouched, square stance. Shifts the weight to the backside to get the launch position. Showed good bat speed, keeping the hands behind his rotation and getting good extension. Exit velocity was recorded at 67 MPH. Defensively- Smooth, fluid movements approaching the baseball. Solid pre-pitch movement and gets into a strong athletic position, fielding the ball off the glove side. Transfer gets a bit low, which causes the arm to drag. With a more efficient transfer, will definitely improve on the recorded arm strength of 70 MPH.
