From the stretch, stands tall, gets extension to the plate. Arm action is fluent and repeatable. Has a true ¾ arm slot. Fastball sitting 70-72 topping out at 73. Curveball has sweeping action measures at 64-66. Offensively- Stands even, heavy bat movement above the head. Swing is clean. Barrel stays level through the zone.
Academy Tryouts (November 17, 2017)
Riker stands at 6-foot-0, 140 pounds. Offensively- Righty with wide, opened stance. Hands at ear height with flat bat. Lengthy stride towards pitcher to engage as hands drop to shoulder height for swing. Swing plan flat with a slight incline at contact back foot kicks up following swing. Exit velocity 78 MPH. Defensively- Square base, covers ground with long strides; fields behind the ball. Mid 3/4- arm slot. 71 MPH across the diamond.
