Great size one the mound standing 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with additional size projected to his lean build. Pitching- Wide base with tempo to his delivery, high knee lift, back long arm-action, quick hand-speed with a release from a mid-¾ slot. Fastball sat 80-82 mph with run and sink to his arm-side (have seen him up to 84). Flashed an improved slider/slurve with late tilt in the 66-67 MPH range. May be a sleeper pick in the 2018 class.

Campus Series-Oswego (August 15, 2017)

Tiernan stands 6-foot-2, 178-pounds with quality size, a frame to hold more positive weight. Offensively- Mostly even stance, toe tap for timing, slight stride forward. Barrel is starts flat and powers inside the ball, power to his pull-side. Exit velocity peaked at 83 MPH. Defensively- Approach is a bit choppy to the ball, 74 MPH arm from a high ¾ slot. Pitching- Premium size, long lengthy lower half. Simple delivery, long stride with straight direction, arm-action short and quick with fastball sitting 80-84 MPH with late life, plus arm from plus frame. Had trouble harnessing slider at 68-69 MPH.
