Physical: Strong, athletic 6-foot, 190lb frame with obvious physicality traits in his game. 7.72 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, narrow stance as the hands showed up/down start at the chest. Utilized a leg lift directionally out towards the pitcher, initiating the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Recorded a mostly middle of the field, hard contact round of BP (29% line drive rate via Trackman) with good feel for the barrel. Notched a T92 mph bat-exit velocity and 348 foot batted ball distance, bursting on the inner half with tight, quick turns and noticeable connection in the lower half. Could backspin the ball when getting pitched above the belt, creating doubles power and damage to the pull-side gap. Middle of the order consideration at the next level with a confident approach.
Defensively: The primary outfielder stayed down over the toes with the momentum as a soft glove hand funneled inward at the chest. Solid pace and released accurately from a H ¾ slot with some length in the arm-swing (81 mph arm). Smooth operation with solid reads off the bat, ranging in either direction using a low posture when throwing, getting into the legs.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber with momentum-gaining pace in the delivery, speeding up after the stack position (medium, slight hip coil) with athleticism down the slope and a quick arm at ¾ height. The FB pounded the zone at 78-80 mph, living down around the knees at 1792 rpms. Mixed a sweeping 67-69 mph SL as the strikeout offering, grabbing up to 11 inches of HM at its peak.
7/06/20
Physical: Strong, athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with power rooted in a physical lower half. 7.34 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Easy/balanced slightly open stance with the hands starting high at the ear with slight rhythm. Utilized a controlled leg hang coupled with a launch from the shoulder to initiate a violent, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated plenty of fluidity through contact creating natural backspin to the pull-side gap and present home run power when catching the ball just right in front of the plate. Showcased sink into an advanced lower half with ability to stay on the offspeed pitch in game. Recorded a top of 92 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and a max bat speed of 73.5 mph according to Blast Baseball. Should profile as a potential middle of the order bat down the line with a high ceiling offensively.
Defensively: The primary outfielder showcased adequate footwork arriving with plenty of momentum to the fielding window and getting downhill towards the target. Was able to use the “banana route” concept on balls hit in the gap and demonstrated a quick first step at his position. Featured an accurate throwing arm out of a high ¾ slot with occasional crossfire and quality extension on the front end. OF - 77 mph
Pitching: Moderate tempo in the delivery with intent out of the stack using solid leg drive and hip shoulder separation allowing the arm to work quickly through a high ¾ slot with slight crossfire. The fastball played at 76-78 mph in the zone with a max of 1980 spin per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in an adequate 67-69 mph SL with small horizontal movement and countered with a 71-72 mph CH thrown at near fastball arm speed.
