Physical: Stocky and sturdy 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with strength in the actions. 7.73 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Open, crouched stance with the hands resting high on the shoulder. Utilized a quick toe-tap stride to initiate a fluid and easy, flat barrel path through the hitting zone. The hands got on plane early and showed present bat speed at impact, peppered the pull-side during batting practice with line drives alternating from LF line to CF. Demonstrated advanced feel for the barrel with an adjustable lower half and understanding for timing at the plate. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 83 mph per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary third baseman showed short, choppy actions at the hot corner with ability to play downhill through the ball on occasion. Showed low posture while moving laterally but got too “up and down” after fielding the ball losing momentum. A soft glove hand played with high accuracy showing push and give technique when need be, and displayed an accurate low ¾ slot across the diamond with a moderate arm circle.
Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step with deliberate tempo in the delivery, slight natural hip coil at the top of the stack and gets directional towards the plate allowing a repeatable, ¾ arm-slot to work in rhythm. FB played from 73-75 mph with minimal arm-side run coupled with a short and late breaking, 64-66 mph, 11/5 CB. Countered with a 63-65 mph CH featuring natural deception with near fastball arm speed.
7/11/18 Lessard has a small, thin build standing at 5-foot-8, 140-pounds. On the mound he shows an effortless delivery with room to improve with a more explosive lower half. His Fastball came in at 70-73 mph. He throws a knuckle curve that breaks slowly at 58-60 mph on an 11/5 tilt. His Changeup features slight arm side run at 63-65 mph. Has room to mature and will benefit as a result. Two-way prospect. Moves under control through the fielding process to both directions. Ball skills are on par for his age. Throws from high ¾ slot. Arm strength will continue to develop with physical strength. 60-yard dash: 7.6 Infield Velocity: 63 Exit Velocity: 72
