Riley is a wiry 6-foot-2 160 pounds with fast twitch actions. He ran an impressive 4.22 Home to 1B from the right side and had an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Offensively- Riley starts in a spread stance with weight pre-loaded and hands up and off the body. He uses a short up and down stride, landing slightly open. Stays behind the ball into contact with aggressive back foot/hip rotation. Swing path has a slight uphill path to it but makes up for it with bat speed. Defensively- Aggressive approach from the outfield, fielding the ball outside his glove side leg. Would like to see a more assertive crowhop that allows for him to turn his body and stay long with his arm action (INF or catcher like right now). Arm works through a low 3/4 slot with a peak velocity of 78 MPH but there is more in the tank once is arm path is elongated.
