New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Ferranti is an athletic 5-foot-11, 180 pound Catcher. He ran a 7.95 60. Offensively- Flat barrel on load, hands at ears. Small, in-balance stride, good transfer of weight to front side. Shoulder-high, 2-hand finish with pull side line drive/flyball results. Exit velocity equaled his previous high at 87 MPH. Defensively- Ferranti receives ball in-balance behind the plate and gets ball out of glove quickly. Arm strength was 75 MPH with him being as high as 77 MPH in the past; previous event pop time ranges were from 2.03-2.19 seconds with a 2.06 during today's workout. Above average arm strength behind the plate, being able to stay lower during his footwork will get him closer to the sub 2.0 mark. Pitching- On the mound Ferranti uses a slow and deliberate windup with a knee drive just below the belt. Arm action from behind the plate carries over to the mound; staying with a short draw back. FB was 77-78 MPH from a 3/4 arm slot; CB at 63-67 MPH with some late lateral action.
May 2016
Currently ranked No. 83 in New York's 2017 class; No. 11 among catchers; seeing time at third with senior backstop in the lineup. At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds has a strong, stocky build. Generates strength at the plate with torso; uses his legs well; patient gap-to-gap hitter. Sure glove at third with a strong arm across the diamond; able to make plays in front of him while taking away hits in the hole and down line.
Preseason All-State (Feb. 28, 2016)
Ferranti stands 5-foot-11, 180-pounds with a strong thick lower body.  We've watched him make some great improvements over the last year.  He's now elevated his exit velocity to 87-mph with signs of more bat-speed to come.  Offensively- Sets up with a wide athletic base, uses a small leg lift to get going with a slight hand load at shoulder level and a compact direct path to the ball.  Showed consistent barrel and pop at the plate, strong player that could combine strength with bat-speed.  Defensively- Phillip sets up low with loose hips and relaxed stance.  Receives with soft hands and a quick transfer.  Pop time was at 2.07 and has been as low as 2.03.  Ferranti with a strong frame and above average tools behind the dish continues to show his upside.

WNY Pro Holiday Clinic (December 19, 2015)
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound 2017 catcher with good natural size that with the frame to add strength.  Offensively- He showed an 84 mph exit velocity.  At the plate Ferranti sets up tall and balanced with hands slightly high above ears.  He uses a short consistent stride and then utilizes his lower half well driving hard from the backside.  If he relaxes the hands a little he may get a little more natural whip through the zone. Defensively- Behind the plate he sets up low and relaxed with relaxed hips.  He received the ball well throughout the day giving pitchers a good solid backstop.  Though not all throws were on the bag he was still able to pop a 2.03.  Ferranti showed a lot of potential both at the plate and behind the dish.  With a plus body and sound approach to the game he’ll be one to watch come spring.
WNY All-Stars Event (Aug 27, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.01 Home to 1st from the right-hand side.  Defensively- As a catcher, he throws with a clean loose action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball and keeps it in front of him.  His pop times were consistently at 2.06 down to second base.  As an infielder, he has a good approach through the ball, with smooth hands, throws with a low/high 3/4 arm action, plays through the ball, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 77 MPH. Offensively-  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 84 MPH.

East vs. West Battle  (June 20-21, 2015)

Caught a quick glimpse of the young catcher late in the 3rd place game. Love his body type at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. Broad shoulders and good build down to the ground. Smoked a single to CF in his only at bat late. Will need to see more of him behind the plate but definitely a player that needs to get on the radar.
Holiday Pro Clinic (December 21, 2014)
Ferranti stands 5-foot-9, 180-pounds with solid size behind the plate. Defensively- He receives with a wide base, soft hands. He drops his knees on blocks keeping the ball in front, has great size and projections at his position. He has a high, clean transfer on throws, uses an over-the-top slot, arm strength 71 mph with a 2.25 pop time. He has plenty of time to grow only being a 2017 graduate, look for him to be very good in the near future behind the dish. Offensively- At the plate his setup is shoulder width, hands relaxed. On the pitch he uses a back load, stride for timing, short path to the ball, barrel gets to the ball quick, slightly uphill. Long extension out in front, balanced swing with high finish. Catching prospect to keep an eye on.
