July 2018
Quick actions behind the plate. Moves and receives the ball well. Quick exchange on his throws to 2B. Compact left-handed swing. Gets his barrel on plane with the pitch early and keeps his hands inside of the ball. Good bat speed. Balanced swing with a high finish.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Stands 5-foot-10, 160-pounds with a lean body frame. At the plate he swings from the left-side, relaxed setup with a wide base, bat waggle, on the pitch very little stride for timing, fluid consistent swing path, slightly inclined with some lift to his pull-side, exit velocity was 75 mph off a tee but expect that number to climb with added strength. Defensively, shows high end athleticism from the catching position evidenced by his 6.93 60 yard dash. Receives from a slender base, quick footwork, hand to the ear with an over-the-top release, arm-strength 73 mph with a 2.21 best pop-time. Added arm-strength will only help.
