ENY ASG (September 15, 2018)
Ran a 7.97 60 Yard Dash. Offensively - Tall, balanced set-up in the box with hands pulled back into hitting position. Lower half shows good adjustability in swing. Bat path creates lift while hitting against a firm front side. Full hip rotation after contact. Showed improved strength with Exit Velocity of 87 MPH. Defensively - Moves feet easily for his size. At times gets too narrow with his fielding stance. Quick exchange into his throws. Keeps ball high and tight with compact arm action. Arm strength was 79 MPH. Pitching - Simple, repeatable delivery with consistent direction towards target. Arm action shows good whip and loose finish. Stays tall and works downhill. High 3/4 release creates tough angle on all offerings. FB peaked at 81 MPH and ranged from 78-80 MPH. Also flashed 2/7 breaking ball at 62-65 MPH and CH at 67-68 MPH. Reliable 3-pitch mix.
Campus Series - St. Rose (July 10, 2018)
6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Big frame that should be able to handle additional strength. Offensively - Tall, narrow set up in the box. Starts with hands high then lowers them into an athletic hitting position on his forward stride. Barrel stays behind the ball, whips thru the zone. Smooth and balanced left-handed swing with some lift. More power to come. Exit Velocity was 83 MPH. Defensively - Big target at 1B. Balanced and controlled footwork around the bag. Could widen out when fielding to get lower, more athletic base. Capable of handling all the necessary throws. Arm strength was 77 MPH. Pitching - Durable pitching frame with some projection left. Uses a steady, deliberate tempo from the wind-up. Simple, balanced actions. Works from a ¾ release point. Compact and repeatable arm action. FB sits 75-76 MPH and topped at 77. Shows occasional arm side run. CB is a slower offering at 55-56 MPH but with consistent shape to it. Also flashed a CH at 61-62 MPH. Kept all 3 offerings around the zone.
