Physical: Strong, projectable 5-foot-11, 175lb frame with even proportions. 8.06 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, narrow stance as the hands operated loosely on the shoulder to start. Utilized a gradual leg hang, gaining some subtle weight-shift into a stiff-front side with a flat bat path entering the hitting zone at launch. Able to use a balanced approach, shooting backside contact the other way with a shorter swing when pitched out over the plate. Medium intent, handsy attack at times that produces good bat to ball skills and a T85 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak via Trackman.
Defensively: The primary first baseman fielded accurately out in front with adequate range using a soft glove hand at a medium posture. Bent at the waist with chest over toes, funneling cleanly and exchanging at the belt-line. Shuffled once, releasing from a repeatable H ¾ slot (shorter takeaway, 79 mph arm strength, on target).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber using above-average pace to get into footstrike with an early hand break and H ¾ slot on the front-side. The FB ranged from 70-73 mph for strikes to arm-side when commanded and added a slower, gradual 59-60 mph curveball in advantage counts.
2/21/20
Physical: 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. Strong, athletic frame. 8.38 runner in the 60; 4.58 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Upright stance with an even base, high hands, uses a toe tap and a medium stride for timing Swing works on an uphill plane, generates some loft, hands get to and through the zone quickly. Hard, high line drives to the pull side/up the middle. 73 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Starts upright and approaches the ball with controlled footwork, sure hands, plays the backhand well. Long arm swing with a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 75 MPH. Pitching: Builds momentum with short drop step, high leg lift, stays tall and over back side while striding out in line to a repeatable release and balanced follow through. Long, fluid arm swing to a 3/4 release. FB: T74, 69-71 MPH. Downhill plane with arm side tail. CB: 61-62 MPH. Locates with sharp, slurve action. CH: 64-65 MPH. Arm side fade.
