Vasquez is an athletic framed 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed pitcher with a strong lower half. Pitching - Sets up middle rubber with tucked balance point; lands open and on his heel. Whippy arm that works through a low ¾ slot . Dips his hips a little through delivery. Vasquez’s fastball reached 80 MPH, sitting 77-79 MPH with arm side run. Curveball ranged from 62-63 MPH with 1-to-7 early action in the zone. Could possibly benefit from more of a slider approach from his current arm slot. Change was 68-69 MPH with downward movement. Vasquez has a mature frame with an easy arm that should lead to additional velocity gains.
