Physical: Large, XL 5-foot-11, 215-pound frame with power throughout the build. 8.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Impressive feel for the hit tool; starts with a bent, even stance with good usage of ground power throughout the stance and timing mechanism, utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through a slight uphill path with fluidity in the swing; simple but effective actions in the box, a barrel tip created early rhythm in the hands allowing for consistent bat speed (77 mph average) according to Blast Motion. Standout round of batting practice while notching a 39% line drive rate to go along with a 340 foot top batted ball distance per Trackman Baseball. A 98 mph bat-exit velocity will play admirably in a middle of the order, run-producer role.
Defensively: The primary first baseman showcased adequate feel around the bag with quick early feet on the way to the baseball, showed a moderate, low posture out in front of the toes with a soft glove hand; accurate 70 mph arm strength from a short, high ¾ slot.
8/25/20
Physical: 5-foot-11, 215 pounds; sturdy frame, strong lower half. 7.8 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even weight shift on both legs working from a slightly open stance, lots of bat movement; stands up on load, floats into the front foot while the hands shoot backwards. limited use of lower half, generates most of his power from his upper body with Pretty level swing path that gives him a generous amount of plate coverage and allows him to stay on plane. When his foot was down on time he crushed hard line drives and deep fly balls to the outfield, focusing mainly pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 97 MPH. Defensively: Moves well off the bag, keeping the feet moving; shows the ability to move well laterally, bends at the belt to field and stands back up to throw. Quality hands with a good funnel to a smooth transfer; long arm swing out of the glove, arm is up in ready position on time to fire from a very high slot. INF - 66 MPH. Pitching: Fast pace in windup, "tall and fall" back leg down the mound with good north to south action in the shoulders at foot strike. Long arm swing, not much whip in the arm action; could get more out of the arm if he could work a little slower down the slope and let things catch up. FB: T 71MPH, 69-71 MPH. Controlled the FB well, lived up in the zone with good life. CB: 54-56 MPH. Curveball has good action when thrown down in the zone, tall with some glove side break. CH: 60 MPH. The changeup offers a good chance in speed to keep hitters off balance.
