A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-8, 150lb frame with some feel for his body. 7.22 runner and recent Cortland State commit.
Offensively: LHH - Even, slightly bent stance just outside shoulder-width as the hands operated in rhythm high to start; utilized a short lift and replace stride, initiating a top hand dominated swing through a flat path into the hitting zone. Found success with good connection on a line towards the middle of the field (50% line drive rate, 291 foot batted ball distance per Trackman). Top of the order type skillset with minimal swing/miss in game action, staying on the barrel with ability to be on-time to multiple quadrants. Hit into an adjustable front side en route to a T87 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak and doubles power on occasion.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated early momentum over the toes and good reads off the bat, getting to solid positions at a lower posture. Fielded softly off the right side and exchanged cleanly at the waist, releasing quickly in rhythm through a H ¾ slot (82 mph arm, accurate). Corner outfield projection and could go get the ball in the air.

Physical: 5'8 150lb OF ran a 7.07 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thin frame has room to add size and strength over time.
Offensively: He starts in a shoulder width stance with a tall posture and his hands calm & quiet by his rear shoulder. He uses a simple stride forward and hand load to create separation between his upper and lower half. his barrel path works aggressively inside of the ball with a slight upper cut through the hitting zone. His head stays quiet and down on the ball throughout the swing.
Defensively: He approaches the ball athletically with a controlled pace before fielding off of his glove side foot. His momentum flows through the catch and he keeps his feet on the ground as he pro steps into the throw. His arm works over the top and gets downhill towards his target.
Pitching: He starts in a tall & squared off stance as he uses a short rockers step to begin the windup. He maintains great body control and pace throughout his movements. His arm works short and quick from an OTT arm slot. He gets a lot out of his body because he stays efficient and simple. He displays three pitches (FB,CV,CH) with a low spin rate creating good movement and deception on all pitches.

Physical: Lean / athletic 5-foot-8, 138-pound frame with room to fill out as he matures, advanced feel for his body in all phases. 7.07 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: LHH. Tall, balanced stance with a loose setup as the hands started low at the shoulder with minimal rhythm. Utilized a barrel wiggle off of the shoulder to get to launch coupled with a short and quick lift and replace stride to initiate the hands through a fluid, flat barrel path and into the hitting zone. Jolted the bat head towards the front of the plate with advanced twitch in the hands at the plate, notched an impressive 22.40 mph peak hand speed per Blast Motion evidencing just how quickly he got into the hitting zone. Demonstrated lift after impact generating natural backspin on head high line drives driven all over the field, looked like a mature hitter repeatedly getting on time on pitches in any quadrant. Recorded a max bat-exit velocity of 83 mph according to Trackman Baseball. Defensively: The outfielder featured quality footwork getting downhill through the baseball with momentum towards the target, fielded off of the right side of his body with a medium-low center of gravity on the approach, kept momentum after fielding with smooth transfers and a quick, accurate high ¾ slot on the release. Feel for body in space and understanding of when to stay behind the baseball or when to come and get it. OF - 79 mph Pitching: LHP - Started from the middle-left side of the rubber with above average pace in the delivery, simple and repeatable actions, medium leg lift at waist height while driving directionally towards the plate, landed closed with crossfire at release out of a quick, high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 78-80 mph showing short arm side run, mixed in feel for spin on a 64-66 mph breaker with late depth and 1/7 shape. Commanded a 69-70 mph CH with occasional fade to it, good sell at release creating timing issues at the plate.
10/12/19
Offensively- the left handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Short simple load actions. The 2022 graduate displayed a short compact swing. Displayed hard contact to the pull side. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively, the outfielder displayed an aggressive approach to the baseball. The outfielder displayed a strong accurate arm on throws from the outfield. On the mound, the left handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and a live arm. The LHP works downhill with intent and late life with the FB. FB peaked at 77 MPH. CB is tight and ranged from 65-67 MPH and CH range was 67-69 MPH. The 2022 graduate has upside and is a player to follow as he continues to develop.
