Nealon stands at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds.Ran a 7.57-60.Offensively- Switch hitter.From the left- opened stance slightly wider than shoulder width, hands held at shoulder height.Toe tap to engage with lengthy stride.Swing plane at a slight incline with full extension finish.From the right, similar stance, hands held slightly higher with toe tap to engage.Stride from the right side not as lengthy.Swing looks stronger on the right side.Exit velocity measured at 78-MPH.Defensively- short stance, approaches the ball with shuffle step.Fields behind the ball.Short arm action with arm slot at a high 3/4- slot. Arm strength measured at 69-MPH, a 5-MPH improvement from last January.
WNY Travel Workout (January 16, 2017)
Nealon stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pounds. Recorded a time of 4.47 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Switch hitter. From the left side, has a solid base in an upright stance. Hands are at shoulder height and extended away from body. Uses a toe tap stride that lands closed. Hands drop before going forward. Swing plane is slightly uphill with a high finish. From the right side, has a similar setup with hands closer to body. Uses a toe tap stride that lands even. Hips are rotational to attack ball. Swing is flat throughout and extends through contact. Swing looks much more comfortable from right side. Had an exit velocity of 72 MPH from the tee. Defensively- Approaches ball with long strides. Feet set up wide with knees bent. Catches ball close to body. Uses a crossover step to initiate throw. Throws with a short and quick arm action. Had a throwing velocity of 64 MPH across the diamond.
