Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Lean and athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame with some projection and feel for his body. 7.28 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with a slight crouch at the knees as the hands work high at the ear with the bat angled back towards the catcher. Utilized a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate a handsy, flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Occasionally gets too far onto the front side losing power at contact point, but the barrel worked well through the middle of the field during batting practice. The barrel gets to impact and then works quickly out of the zone towards a high finish behind the head. Did a good job keeping long levers inside the ball in on the plate, and showed a feel in the box for timing out in front. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 78 mph per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed solid footwork arriving to the baseball on time with downhill momentum towards the target. Stayed behind the ball in the air with ability to drop step and go get it if need be for his pitchers. A soft glove hand played through the baseball at the fielding window while fielding off of the right side of the body. The arm worked accurately from his position out of a high ¾ slot, moderate arm circle. OF - 79 mph
