Poag, a 2018 right-handed hitting middle infielder, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs in at 179 pounds, ran a 7.39 60 matching a personal best. Offensively- Wide square crouched stance with the weight even, hands are above the shoulder with the barrel of the bat slightly more than 45-degrees. Initiates the swing with a straight up high leg kick while the weight shifts to the backside, barrel gets completely parallel and hands stay in strong position with leveled shoulders. During BP, showed an ability to drive the ball well to the middle of the field as well as from the pull side gap to the line. Swing stays pretty compact despite letting the front hip to dominate at times. Recorded an exit velocity of 78 MPH on the day, matching a personal best.. Defensively- Starts from an athletic position using a hop prep step. Approaches the ball aggressively but with good body control. Fields the ball with the hands in front of the body, but feet to get a bit wide. Funnels the ball to the chest where separation occurs showing a quick transfer and traditional shorter arm action for an infielder. Arm velocity, which has continued to increase over the past few events, was recorded at a personal best of 75 MPH
