Nathan Kruger, 3B, East Aurora HS, NY (2016)

2/15/15

Krugar stands 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with a solidly built frame. From the mound his setup is relaxed, hands start near his belt. His tempo is quick but balanced, hand separation at his leg lift peak. He drops hard on his back leg, uses a clean easy arm action, throws from a mid-3/4 arm slot with some shoulder separation. Hand is quick, finishes over his front side but recoils upright some. Fastball was consistent at 79 mph, curveball sat 70, changeup 75.

Hitting / 3B - At the plate he uses an open stance, dives back to even, hands stay inside the ball, short path, slightly uphill path, short extension through the ball. Fields the ball soft out in front, quick action, throws from a mid-3/4 slot at 73 mph. He ran a 7.5 60.

Kruger stands 5-foot-9, 164-pounds with an athletic build. Though he lists as a 3B, Kruger showed signs of strong enough athletic ability and arm strength to be a versatile player.  He tested well in the vertical leap at 26", showed quickness, and one of the highest exit speeds at the combine at 83 mph.  Defensively he stays very simple and eliminates all excess movements when fielding.  He shows a great release and +arm strength. At the plate Kruger starts with an open stance.  He shows great bat speed and a direct path to the ball.  Despite being a little front side heavy he's still able to generate good power.   Adding a little rhythm and slight weight transfer would go a long way with adding more power to an already explosive bat.

Nathan Kruger, RHP, East Aurora HS, NY (2016)

7/7/15
Stands 5-foot-9, 164-pounds with a compact strong build. He uses a balanced delivery through release, arm action is long, throws from a high-3/4 slot, fastball sits 77-80 mph with some late jump. Curveball sits 68-71 with some sharp bite, finishes balanced and under control.
