An athletic 6-foot-0, 170 pounds. Pitching- Repeatable delivery. Uses a high knee lift into a strong balance point. Smooth hand separation, drive downhill on the mound. Good command of FB (83 MPH) with arm side run. CB (65-68 MPH) has a late break. The 2020 RHP has a projectable frame. Added strength and development will only increase his measurables. Must follow.
Heilig stands at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Offensively- Righty, nice shoulder width stance with toe touch to engage short stride. Hands held slightly above shoulders with relaxed flat bat. Smooth weight transfer, flat swing plane through the zone with slight barrel incline at contact. 80 MPH exit velocity. Pitching- above the belt leg kick. Slow tempo with long back towards second base arm action. High 3/4- arm slot with full extension. Fastball ranging from 77-80 MPH with CB checking in at 67-70 MPH. Heilig is young and has potential for continued velocity gains with added arm strength.
Offensively- Even setup in the box, loose rested hands by his back shoulder. Short and compact to the ball, barrel gets uphill through contact, full extension, 81 mph exit velo. Defensively - At 3B wide base, stays behind the ball, quick funnel and transfer, short arm-action from a mid ¾ slot with 73 mph arm-strength. Pitching – Quick pace to his delivery, lands slightly closed down the mound, arm-action is long and whippy, low effort with fastball 79-81 mph, 65-66 CB sweeping action.
5-foot-10, 160-pounds, stands even in the box with slight bat movement pre pitch. Has a short stride to the ball keeping the barrel flat through the zone. Swing is clean. Showed off the speed stealing a base in the second game this afternoon.
