Lifts hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of R81/L78 MPH via Trackman. LHH: The fluid swing mirros from the left side . Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while funnelling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 66 MPH. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. 3/27/21
Physical: 5-foot-5, 170LBS.
Offensively: Switch hitter. Similarities from both sides. Sets up in an upright, open stance with hands next to ear. Weight transfers onto the backside as the lead leg goes through a methodical leg hang that begins early. Simultaneously the hands move back into the load position. From the right side the barrel angle is closer to 90 degrees in correlation to the body, while from the left side the barrel fires from a negative angle.
Defensively: Walks into the prep step and has bend in the knees as pitch is being delivered. Shuffles side to side. Will field with glove at multiple different angles depending on the height of the ground ball. Will attack when necessary and work through the ground ball. Overall agility will be vital as he grows through his high school career.
Pitching: RHP. Starts on the 1B side of the rubber. Hands start at chin height, go down during the rocker step, and up during the leg lift to waist height. On glove break the arm goes out and back, maintaining bend in the elbow. High 3/4 release point.
2/17/21
Physical: Thick, durable 5-foot-5, 170-pound frame with some strength present. 9.08 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, slightly open stance with the barrel resting idle on the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a leg lift stride in order to initiate the hands through a flat path into the hitting zone; slight cross-body rotation with a smooth operation offensively. Mostly pull-side approach notching a 60% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball, peppering the LCF gap with consistency. Recorded a 76 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice with room for more as he matures (235 foot peak batted ball distance).
Defensively: The third baseman featured a deliberate sink in the hips for the “prep step” staying on the toes early and often in the route, arrived on time to the fielding window out of a moderate postured setup, feel for pace across the diamond out of a short, high ¾ “V slot.” Got up to 66 mph across the diamond with accuracy on the bag.
