Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 170lb frame with room to add strength. 7.04 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, slightly open stance from a wider base, as the hands started flat, flush on the shoulder. Utilized a directional lift/replace stride to initiate the bat-head through an early slotted, direct path into the hitting zone. Weight-shifted with some intent towards contact, producing jump off the barrel through the middle of the field. Notched a 33% line drive rate (via Trackman) and found present pull-side juice when synced up (330 foot batted ball). Obvious top of the order choice with low swing/miss rates in game and clean bat to ball skills. Recorded a T92 mph bat-exit velocity with more available.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated one of the more up-tempo rounds of defense, sprinting down through the ball with an accurate glove hand out of a lower posture. Maintained good balance and phased from fielding immediately into the throw, crow hopped and released from H ¾ slot (83 mph arm).
2/15/19
Athletic 5-foot-7, 135 pounds. Offensively- Stand in the box with a wide stance and slightly bent in the knees. Loose hands with a slight armbar when loading. Throws the hands to the hitting zone with a flat bat path. Balanced throughout the swing and finishes with one hand follow through. Displayed some pop in the middle of the field during the hitting portion. Had an exit velocity of 80 MPH. Defensively- In the OF, active footwork, attacks the ball out front with a quick exchange on the throws. The throws have some carry at 70 MPH. In the INF, stays square to the ball and move well laterally. Displays soft hands and quick exchange on the throws across the diamond. The 2022 graduate is athletic enough to play all around the field. Will be a good follow as he gets stronger and develops.
