A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Strong, projectable 6-foot-2, 195lb frame with athleticism available. STAC commit ran a 7.57 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Tall, upright stance as the hands started up/down in front of the shoulder with quicker rhythm. Utilized a toe tap stride with some weight shift through impact, able to create sudden, blocked off violence through a flat path into the hitting zone. Produced a loud round of batting practice with efficient sequencing in the swing; easy success lifting the ball to the LCF gap for damage up to a 364 foot batted ball distance (via Trackman). A 56% line drive and near 70% hard hit rate will give him ability to hit for average down the road in an impact middle of the order type role; peaked at a T96 mph bat-exit velocity.
Defensively: The primary third baseman shifted his weight onto the balls of his feet with a minor hop in the “prep step.” Worked right to left around the ball, creating some leverage with a soft glove hand out in front, and holding momentum to the target. Released from an accurate, H ¾ slot after a shuffle across the diamond (83 mph arm, feel).
7/06/20
Physical: Large and powerful 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame with projectability and next level strength found throughout the build. 7.87 second 60-yard dash runner.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, slightly open stance with the hands high above the shoulder at the ear in the setup. Utilized a repeatable, deep toe-tap stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path with plenty of jump into the hitting zone. Showcased high intent swings during batting practice with ability to consistently contact the baseball at the front of the plate while hitting into a stiff and adjustable front side. Created powerful torque throughout the frame while sitting into a low and athletic posture during the swing working the hands easily towards extension and to a high finish after contact. Recorded a max of 92 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and a top distance of 325 feet on a batted ball.
Defensively: The primary third baseman featured a moderately low center of gravity with ability to move well laterally for his size. Repeatedly arrived on time to the spot and let a soft glove hand play through the ball off of the left side of his body. Glove hand was loose when working outside his body and allowed for quality catch and throw skills from the hot corner. Arm was accurate playing primarily through a long, high ¾ slot across the diamond. 3B - 89 mph
Pitching: RHP - Repeatable delivery with smooth pace throughout, full arm swing with a power, high ¾ slot on the front side with life on an 82-84 mph FB showing occasional heaviness into the zone. Countered with a 72-74 mph SL as he out pitch with horizontal bite and a max of 2025 spin per Trackman Baseball. Commanded a 75-76 mph CH with adequate sell and deception to LHH.
10/12/19
Offensively-the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. The hitter will use a slight toe tap for timing before entering the hitting zone. Impressive round of batting practice at the Last Chance Event with hard consistent contact. Defensively- the infielder waits back on the baseball. Displayed simple funnel actions in a quick realize from a mid 3/4 arm slot. The 2022 graduate has a strong enough arm to stay on the last side of the infield. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and a live projectable arm. FB has late life down in the zone. Also displayed feel for a CH which could develop into a plus pitch.
6/25/19
Athletic projectable build at 6-foot-1,195 pounds. Ran an 8.00 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Uses a slight toe tap and lowers his hands before entering the hitting zone. Has a short swing and slight lift at the point of contact. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Top exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively- As a third baseman, fields the ball slightly upright. Takes his time to gather himself to make throws across the diamond. Throws from a mid ¾ arm slot. Moves well laterally. Top throwing velocity was 78 MPH. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable balanced delivery. Works with tempo. Works with a high knee lift and has early smooth hand separation. Works downhill with intent. Showed command of a FB that peaked at 76 MPH. Showed command of a CB at 66-68 MPH. The 2022 graduate has tons of upside and is a must follow.
6/06/18
Decresce ran a 8.0-60, an improvement from February. Arm strength from the infield measured at 70-MPH. Fastball ranging from 72-74-MPH topping out at 74-MPH with a curveball measured at 63-MPH.
2/10/18
DeCresce is a 5-foot-8, 160 pound 3B/RHP who ran a 8.32 60 yard dash time. Offensively- Right handed hitter attacks the baseball on each swing. A lot of pre-pitch hand movement prior to getting his hands in a good hitting position at chest high. Lower half trigger consists of a big leg lift and stride to more than shoulder width. Swing is aggressive but sometimes long which makes barrell contact a little late and deeper in the zone. Produced an exit velocity of 71 MPH. Defensively- Feet start shoulder width apart. Approach to ball is with short steps and better footwork will produce a smoother fielding transition. Consistent glove work and moves well on the run. Threw from a three-quarter arm slot and produced an accurate arm with infield velocity of 71 MPH. Pitching- Feet spread shoulder width apart from the wind-up position. Rocker step and transfer to balance point is consistent with hands coming into the body and breaking near the mid-section with toe pointed down at peak of transfer point. Good arm path and classic drop and drive leg action allows him to produce a max FB of 71 MPH, sitting 70-71 MPH with some arm side movement. Will be able to increase consistency and velocity by powering towards the catcher as follow through takes him falling off to the left side of the rubber. CB was 64-65 and change was at 61-62 MPH.
