Unsigned Senior Games (September 30, 2017) Matteson has great size standing 6-foot-4, 205-pounds with broad shoulders. Slower pace with a pause at his balance point in his mechanics, Average length to stride, slight over rotation in the front leg on landing. Fastball comes from a high 3/4 slot ranging 74-75 mph with some downward tilt. Curveball shows early shape, changeup has gradual fade peaking around 70 mph. Great size, added arm-strength this winter is critical for the 6-foot-4 RHP.

Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)

Matteson stands 6-foot-2, 205 pounds from a bigger build. Offensively - Starts with an open stance, longer path to the ball, has some upper body lean over the plate, level barrel plane with a shorter extension. Defensively - stays behind the ball, glove away from body with a quick transfer to throw from a mid-3/4 slot. Needs to improve his side-to-side range. Pitching - simply delivery with a slower pace, knee lift is quick and doesn't go above his waist, good direction on his drive towards home, good arm-circle, throws from a mid-3/4 slot with a fastball topping 73 mph.
