Poueriet stands in at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 6.8 – 60. Offensively- Righty sets up in an open stance with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding his hands in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise to stride forward squaring up to the pitcher while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Shows quick hands to the zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high one-handed finish. Has good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in swing. Tends to jump at the ball losing power from the lower half. Needs to stay back slightly before attacking the ball in the hitting zone. Demonstrated ability to hit line drives up the middle and pull slide during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 73 MPH. Defensively- Good approach to the baseball. Gets underneath well with good crow hop mechanics gaining ground throughout the process of the throw. Quick catch and release with accurate throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 82 MPH. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a short side step into a high leg raise above the hip crease. Breaks down well with good separation and loose arm action into a mid-¾ release. Utilizes his lower half well with good pull from the upper half and has a strong follow though getting himself into a good fielding position after release. Fastball range was 78-81 MPH and peaked at 82 MPH with a little arm side run. Slider was 67-68 MPH with sharp action and a late break. Change up range was 69-70 MPH with good arm side sink.
