Radley is a lean 5-foot-10; 160 pound RHP. Pitching- Minimal drop step to first base side. Belt high balance point with leg kick crossing over back leg. Throws across body from a ¾ arm slot with longer back action. Finishes on balance with arm side run to his 81 MPH (up 2 MPH from Feb. 2016) FB sat (77-81) CURVE sweeps across zone from 68-70 MPH (up 4-5 MPH from Feb 2016). When Radley begins to fill out, look for him to continue adding speed and movement to all pitches.
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Radley stands 5-foot-10, 160-pounds with a lean, thin frame that could welcome some added size. Offensively - relaxed setup, slight leg lift on the pitch for timing, hands load back, barrel falls almost parallel with ground as he powers forward. Hands are getting stronger evidenced by his exit-speed climbing five-mph from 74 (Nov. 2015) to 79 mph. Barrel stays mostly level through contact, some extension, shoulder finish. Over-rotates at times on his front side. Defensively - stays behind the ball from the middle infield position. Bends over at his back to a deeper fielding position. Throws from a shorter action, 3/4-mid slot. Needs to work on fielding more out-in-front and bending more with his lower half. Pitching - smooth simple delivery, very repeatable. Knee gets belt high, longer back arm-action throwing from a loose mid-3/4 power slot. Shows good shoulder external rotation with some hand-speed, fastball topped 79 mph with good arm-side run. Curveball, although he let-up on his arm speed, shows proper spin, 64-65 with 11/5 shape. With some added size and power, watch for Radley to turn some heads this summer.
Last Chance Preview (November 29, 2015)
Ethan is a slightly built 5-foot-10, 160 pound INF/RHP who ran a 5.32 home to 1B and had a 74 MPH exit velocity. Offensively- Andrew starts from a narrow stance with his hands just off his shoulders. Gains ground with stride using a slight take back to load his hands. Aggressive back foot hip rotation with a down to level swing path. Quick recoil through end of swing, hard groundball/line drive contact. Defensively- Ethan starts in a taller middle infielder position. Stays on the balls of his feet with approach work, covers ground well with long strides. Hands get out in front consistently. Slight delay in transfer into throws as he stands up before releasing. 65 MPH was his peak velocity across the infield. Pitching- Uses a quiet drop step prior to driving knee just past his belt with a slight kick out of his toe towards SS. Maintains an infielder's arm path from a 3/4 arm slot. Lands slightly closed and on his his heel but was able to get arm extended and works down in the zone with his fastball, working both sides of the plate. Breaking ball is above average when able to stay on top with late 1-to-7 action. Swing and miss pitch that he can command for a strike as well.
