The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 195lb frame with good proportions in the build. 7.67 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Showed off a wider, balanced attack as the hands operated in rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a short, up/down stride to initiate the bat head through a slotted, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Easy to maintain consistent bat-speed en route to a loud round of batting practice, hitting into a stiff, properly blocked off front-side for ready juice to pull when getting extended. Notched a T94 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman) and lifted for a few deep swings up to a 361 foot batted ball distance (home run power on occasion, doubles power to gaps). Strong middle of the order type bat with early connection and an efficient run-producing approach.
Defensively: The shortstop demonstrated quality feet, chopping at the start towards a shoulder-width base and bending at the waist at the fielding window. Presented a soft glove hand, funneling quickly and getting rid over the front-side from a H ¾ slot (80 mph arm, accurate). Made plays cleanly, though a move to the corner spot may be available due to size/strength.
7/22/20
Physical: Solidly built, athletic, 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with a projectable frame to continue feeling out. 7.32 60-yard dash runner.
Offensively: LHH. Tall, slightly open stance with the hands showing slight rhythm at the shoulder as the barrel points straight backwards. Utilized a quick and controlled knee-knock stride with a slight shoulder tilt as the load to initiate a fluid, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Hit into a front side with give to it during the finish with some weight shift at the front of the plate. The top hand worked aggressively and short to the baseball allowing the LHH to get on plane early with the baseball and create natural lift to the RCF gap. Should project as a gap to gap hitter with RBI ability down the line for a collegiate offense. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 89 mph per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured quality defender characteristics during defensive evaluations. Arrived to the ball on time with rhythm and a low center of gravity, soft glove hand and above average catch and throw skills generated smooth pace across the diamond and fluid actions overall. Could range to the glove hand side at will and made the play on the run from any arm angle necessary. Live, high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate arm circle and carry. SS - 81 mph
7/09/19
The projectable 5-foot-9, 155-pound middle infielder displayed a lean, athletic frame with some strength. The left-handed hitter begins with a tall, even stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Hands rotate moderately at the shoulder for rhythm while moving into launch upon stride. A solid lower half with weight shift generates a slightly uphill barrel-path registering 80 mph bat-exit velocities during batting practice. The middle infielder demonstrated long actions with adequate footwork and will increase range with a lower center of gravity. A soft glove hand and solid instincts allowed for feet to play in rhythm and arrive to the ball on time. Recorded accurate 70 mph arm-strength from his position utilizing a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot.
