Rogowski stands in at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a strong athletic frame. Ran a 4.74 home to first, just shy of his previous best of 4.36 set in January 2017. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso hold the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing the hips using his whole-body frame in the pitch. Continued to demonstrate potential gap to gap power during batting practice round with clean fluid swings. Recorded an exit velocity of 89 MPH, increasing 6 MPH from last week’s mark of 83 MPH set at the Canisius Campus Series Event. Gets underneath and shows a good transition from catch to the throwing position gaining ground throughout the process of the throw. Was accurate and moves well left/right and on the run. Offensively - clean, effortless swing out of an upright stance, keeps bat on a level plane through the strike zone, repeatable motion with full extension after contact, consistent barrel contact, drives ball to middle third with an exit velocity of 86 MPH, evidence of counter rotation between upper and lower torso. Defensively - agile footwork, smooth transfer with an accurate arm and a position velocity of 79 MPH.
WNY Travel Workout (January 16, 2017)
Rogowski stands at 6-foot-1, 186 pounds. Recorded a time of 4.36 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Starts with feet slider outside shoulders and knees bent. Hands are at shoulder height and extended away from body. Uses a toe tap stride to initiate swing. Hips move forward before becoming rotational. Hand path is out around ball, which limits extension through contact. Flat swing plane with a high finish at very end. Had an exit velocity of 84 MPH off of the tee. Defensively- Approaches ball smoothly with long strides. Fields ball inside framework of body with right foot forward. Uses a powerful crow hop to generate momentum for throws. Had a long and quick arm action. Had a positional throwing velocity of 80 MPH from the outfield.
