Battaglia stands in at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.29 home to first, just shy of his previously best recorded time of 4.18 set in January 2017. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso with his hands just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into the body to stride forward while his hands move back and down slightly to get into his hitting position. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with a level bat path throughout into a high one-handed finish. Uses good lower body rotation getting whole body frame involved in the swing. Demonstrated line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side with batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 92 MPH, a 6 MPH improvement from January 2017. Defensively- Frames well behind the plate keeping body still. Quick footwork and body mechanics on throws down to second with proper downhill mechanics. Recorded a pop time range of 2.01-2.08. Recorded a catcher positional arm velocity of 75 MPH. In the infield shows quick footwork getting towards the baseball. Could get glove out in front more and not let the ball get too deep when fielding. Quick hand mechanics getting ball into chest and into the throwing position. Could use more aggressive footwork towards intended throwing target. Recorded an infielder positional arm velocity of 81 MPH. Recently committed to Division I Niagara University.

Battaglia checks in at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Recorded a time of 4.18 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Begins with a wide base and knees slightly bent. Hands start just above back shoulder. Uses a high leg kick that lands with front foot closed. Back hip drives at ball. Hand path is direct to ball and has full extension through contact. Swing plane is flat. Had a bat exit velocity of 86 MPH off the tee. Line drive results with gap potential. Defensively- Sets up low and comfortable in stance behind the dish. Transfer is quick and clean but could a little bit higher on the body to help get arm in position. Footwork attacks target. Pop times ranged between 1.96-2.04 seconds with a 76 MPH velocity on throws to 2B. Proper technique and quick recovery on blocks. As an infielder, moves to ball smoothly and sets up with wide base. Most bend occurs at waist. Catches ball in front of body on gloves side forehands and backhands but gets underneath body on traditional forehand. Shuffles feet together to gain momentum towards 1B. Had a positional velocity of 79 MPH across the diamond.
