More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 85 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 78 MPH.
9/19/20
Physical: Long / athletic 5-foot-11, 145-pound frame with room to continue adding strength as he matures. 7.39 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly bent stance with an even setup as the hands started low in front of the shoulder with quick rhythm. Utilized a quick toe tap stride to initiate the barrel through a flat path and into the hitting zone. Solid balance throughout the swing with ability to hold posture, liked to keep the hands short and direct to the baseball while hitting into a stiff front side at impact. Demonstrated a mostly middle-pull side approach and peppered the LCF gap during batting practice, recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 83 mph per Trackman Baseball / 40% line drive rate. Defensively: The middle infielder featured a hop step for pre pitch timing, quick first step with short and quick footwork in either direction, attacked the baseball with a soft glove hand out in front, accurate high ¾ slot on the release out of a moderate arm circle. INF - 72 mph Pitching: RHP - Started from the left side of the rubber, side rocker into a medium leg lift with slightly above average pace in the delivery, landed tall and narrow upon footstrike with good direction towards the plate, high ¾ arm-slot on the release as the FB ranged from 71-74 mph with command in the zone. Mixed in a 61-63 mph CH that he was able to kill spin on creating deception at the plate.
