New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Uhlinger stands in at 5-foot-8; 165 pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.50 – 60 and can be improved with proper running technique. Primary position is Shortstop and can be projected as a 2B at the college level. Offensively-Slightly open approach, hands in front of back shoulder and slight movement with the bat. On pitch trigger is a slight leg lift with his front foot being placed in the same spot on his approach. Small trigger of the hands backward keeping them around the back shoulder.  Swing plane is short getting bat into hitting zone. Tends to keep weight on back leg creating a small upper cut through the hitting zone. Two handed high finish with good lower body rotation. Displayed an exit velocity of 72 mph. Defensively-Good approach and movement getting to baseball. Fields ball deep and can be improved getting his glove out more when fielding. Good arm action throwing to target. Can get stronger with better movement towards target. Displayed a position velocity of 66 mph; may be better suited a 2B at the next level.

May 2016
Originally a role player for Copenhagen Central School, Uhlinger has become the leader in the clubhouse for a young program at Carthage. The 5-foot-7 waterbug middle infielder plays shortstop, but is better suited at second base at the next level. Uhlinger reached base three times against Immaculate Heart Central last week (http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/NY/Immaculate-Heart-vs-Carthage-Game-Recap-9243601758), including drawing a four-pitch walk and a standup double. Uhlinger was recorded at 3.35 seconds stealing second, and 2.77 seconds stealing third in the same inning. Has more power going to right field as right-handed batter, but reliably a contact hitter.
