Physical: 6-foot-2, 225 pounds; strong, muscular build. 7.37 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Wide feet with some weight moved to his back leg, wraps the bat around his head paired with high hands; uses a small toe tap/stride forward to load the lower half, the hands and upper body stay quiet. Leans out of his back leg load, leaving the hip coil early but turns on time with a down and out bat path, works a low effort swing with a strong turn through the barrel. Lifted the ball with some pop to the pull side, above average strength present; peak Trackman exit velocity of 92 MPH. Defensively: Starts with feet slightly outside shoulder width but jumps wider to get in a ready position; works to the ball quickly and fields off a wide base. Clean hands that field out in front, works into an easy transfer to throw; low effort, 3/4 slot. INF - 80 MPH.
7/21/19
A strong projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance feet shoulder width apart. Short simple load and short compact swing. Displayed hard consistent contact to the pull side. Has the actions and strength to only get better with the bat. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork and smooth actions at 1B. Moves well around the bag. Stays under control and gets rid of the baseball with low effort.
2/18/19
A physical 6-foot-3, 195 pounds OF. Ran a 7.73 60 yard dash. Offensively- The physical right-handed hitter has a tall stance with a slight bend in the knees. Stays tall and balanced throughout the swing. Small load, and quick short bat path with slight lift during at the point of contact. Displayed consistent line drives in the hitting portion. Exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively- Stays balanced and under control when attacking the ball. Fields the ball out front and off to the side before funneling the ball. Long ¾ arm action and accurate throws towards the plate. OF positional velocity was 66 MPH. The 2020 graduate and the bat and the size to gain attention going forward.
9/23/18
Developed frame at 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Ran a 7.86 60 yard dash. Offensively – Upright, square set-up at the plate with some bat wiggle for rhythm. Toe tap forward stride for load. Stays tall throughout swing. Hands work down to the ball. Loose, quick wrists. Flashed lift in his swing to pull-side. Projects to have more power in future. Exit velocity was 86 MPH. Defensively – Balanced, controlled fielding actions in the OF. Funnels ball into center of body quickly before getting into throws. Loose arm action with high ¾ release, ideal for OF. Uses step behind shuffle to create momentum on throws. Arm strength was 68 MPH. Physical build, foot speed, arm strength and offensive potential may shift him to 1B over the long term.
June 2018
Impressive 6-foot-3 195 pound frame with squared off shoulders; even setup at the plate with some pre-pitch bat waggle. Hands stay inside contact well; scored 2 runs and had a RBI single in game 2. Effortless defender in CF; gliding actions to the ball with good reads off the bat. Continued to swing a hot stick in Saturday’s quarterfinal going 2-for-2 with a 3B, Sac Fly, 3 RBI and a run scored.
