Hamilton College commit. 6-foot, 180-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to begin. Stays in legs well and showed a gap-to-gap approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Showcased fluid defensive actions while playing through the baseball routinely with 90 mph arm strength from the outfield. Also sat 80-82 off the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short drop step to start his delivery. Curveball at 67-68 showed tight 1/7 rotation and changeup was thrown at near-fastball arm speed at 74-77.

Uses his active footwork to gain momentum on throws from the outfield. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity from the outfield was 84 MPH. Pitching- The LHP displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. FB has some late life and some downward tilt. Showed plus command of a FB that peaked at 79 MPH. CB has some late sharp break, shows to be a plus pitch at the moment and ranged from 64-65 MPH.
CNY ASG (September 30, 2018)
Slender build with square frame at 6-foot, 160-pounds. Offensively – Wide, balanced set-up with feet square to the pitcher. Keeps front side in while using toe-tap load. Smooth, compact swing. Hands stay inside of the ball. Found barrel consistently and flashed lift to pull-side. Remains balanced thru finish. Defensively – Clean, balanced footwork in the OF. Stays under control when tracking the ball. Works thru the ball quickly to get into throwing motion. Uses step behind shuffle to create momentum on throws. High, over the top release point. Pitching – Simple, repeatable delivery. Steady pace to throwing motion. Stays balanced at leg lift. Short stride with slight cross action at landing. Quick arm action with slight pause after hand break. Over the top release with quick hand speed out front. Aggressive, rotational finish.
Preseason - Long Island (February 23, 2018)
Jackson is a 5’11” 150 lb LHP/OF that is a switch-hitter. From the left-side he ran a 4.58 home-to-first and 4.69 from the right side. Offensively: From his natural left-hand side he has very sound mechanics. Slightly crouched stance, he uses a top tap for a timing mechanism. Has very good bat-to-ball skills and barrelled the ball consistently. Finished with two hands on the bat and recorded 73 MPH exit velocity. As a righty, he has the same stance, but needs to use more of a load to get into a position where he can generate power. Hit line drives and recorded exit velocity of 65 MPH. Defensively: Charged the ball very well, showed his athleticism and arm strength from the outfield with 79 MPH velocity. Pitching: Clean mechanics, high leg kick with a firm back leg, great drive from back side. Velocity sat 76-77 MPH. Uncomfortable at bat as he fires slightly across his body due to his landing spot.
