Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are soft with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 74 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Short take back while showing some scap load; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 81 MPH, while sitting 76-79 MPH; heavy with arm side run. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while active feet. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 78 MPH.
Pitching: Donlin uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing without restrictions, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Spins off 3B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 76 MPH, while sitting 75-76 MPH; plays up in the zone. CB: 65-66 MPH; lands for strikes.
Physical: Durable, thickly built 6-foot-1, 190lb frame with lower half strength evident.
Pitching: LHP - Started off the middle, right side of the rubber while working at a breakneck pace in the delivery. Came stacked at a higher, slightly hip-coiled position as the hands moved in rhythm up and then separating as the leg did. H ¾ slot with some fluidity into the zone on the FB at 77-79 mph (small arm-side run, 62% zone rate). Mixed in a commanded 67-70 mph SL with ability to get me over in any count, sweeping up to around 16 inches of HM at his peak. Then added an above-average 70-72 mph CH that tunelled off the FB with sell and extra extension (1559rpms).
Physical: Athletic, well put together 6-foot, 175-pound frame. 8.03 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Bent, slight back leaning stance with the hands showing minor rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a toe tap stride in order to initiate the swing through a flat path into the hitting zone. Tight turns with obvious rotational power; middle / LCF approach at the dish with an 87 mph peak at-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Recorded a 33% line drive rate, giving confidence in some repeatability present offensively. A 75.6 mph bat speed showed that he possesses sneaky strength in the actions.
Defensively: The first baseman featured quick feet early in the route while getting solid reads off of the bat, up tempo approach and got the momentum out over the toes, fielded off of the right foot, accurate 76 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Physical: Well put together, lengthy 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with athleticism in the movements. 7.91 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly bent stance with the hands starting flat above the shoulder, utilized a quick toe tap stride while landing closed creating some fight with the hips to try to get through the front side. Generated plenty of leverage at the front of the plate with long limbs doing damage to the pull-side, demonstrated an impressive 46% line drive rate during batting practice according to Trackman Baseball / 310 top batted ball distance and a peak of 84 mph bat-exit velocity. A max of 21.80 mph hand speed per Blast Motion showed just how quickly the barrel was able to enter the hitting zone from launch. Defensively: The first baseman featured a medium center of gravity in the approach while fielding the ball off of the right side of his body, long and methodical footwork with feel around the bag, could pick it for his infielders on throws in the dirt, solid usage of the glove hand out in front. Accurate throws across the diamond out of a high ¾ slot. INF - 75 mph Pitching: LHP - Started from the right side of the rubber with a moderate pace in the delivery, side rocker step into a medium-high leg lift with hip coil at the top of the stack, gets directional on the lower half drive towards the plate, landed with above average hip-shoulder separation jolting the arm through a fluid, high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 71-73 T74 mph with natural arm-side run and an upwards of 1694 spin per Trackman Baseball yielding ground balls off the bat. Countered with a 61-63 mph breaker with short 1-7 tilt.
