Blanford checks in at an athletic 5-foot-11 170 pounds. He ran a 7.45 60. Offensively- Spread stance, slight bat wiggle pre-pitch with limited take back of the hands; short stride. Balanced approach, accelerates through the zone. Flyball/line drive results. Exit velocity was 77 MPH. Defensively- Behind the plate Blanford hops out to spread secondary setup; gains ground during pop step with slight delay getting throwing hand and ball together. Pop times ranged 2.00-2.15  with a peak arm strength of 72 MPH. Pitching- Works from the stretch, mostly via the slide step. Arm action lengthens early with hand collapsing towards the head. Lands closed with a stiff front side. FB sat 75-77 MPH with command to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball varies between Slider/CB action showing both downward bite but also a few with sharp later action in the 69-70 MPH range. Change up had decent fade at 70-71 MPH.
